Tawnee is the
founder of NorCal Equine Rescue. Tawnee and her husband
Jason started NorCal Equine Rescue when Tawnee was only 19 years old.
Thanks to Tawnee's determination NorCal Equine Rescue has become one of
California's largest leading equine rescues. Since 2003 when Tawnee
first saved a horse at an auction, almost 650 equines have been saved
and adopted into loving homes! Each one of the horses, ponies, mules and
donkeys have found a special place in Tawnee's heart, just like the mare
with her new born foal above. Truffles was at a feedlot where she was
being fattened for slaughter. The needed funds were raised and Truffles
and her unborn baby where saved. A few months later Truffles gave birth
to a
healthy and beautiful filly.

Tawnee has had a long time dream of
going to the Dominican Republic
where animal abuse runs rampant and animals are looked at as mere tools
that are used, abused and then dumped with no thought or concern about
their welfare.
