Pilgrim was rescued off a feedlot back in January
of 2008.
Pilgrim is a sweet guy but he can have a mind of his own at times. If
everything is going his way then everything is going great. If you say no this
is what we are going to do he gets pushy and acts like a grumpy old man. But
hey, he has been through a lot and has that right.
 When
he came off the feedlot he was so sad looking. He has a pretty bad calcification
on his knee that makes him limp on it. He was wearing shoes that were way
too small for his feet. His was just so pathetic. He is a cribber/wind
sucker and we believe that this is part of why he is under weight.
The really sad part is that this poor guy was forced to work cows we were
told and was ridden all around before he was sent to the feedlot. So he has the
right to be a grumpy old man.
When he came to us we had out trainer
evaluate him, she rode him for a little and we could tell that he stiff
and not having good time. So we placed him into this program, he loves walking
around in the 35 acre pasture with his friends.
Really he isn't a bad guy, just a poor over worked guy that just wants to be
loved on. |
