Review
|
The last couple
weeks have been extremely busy for the rescue. Our unloading
and
separating pens are now up and ready for a trailer load of rescued
horses to be unloaded. Previously we have used
our round pen as a holding area for horses that have just come in from
being rescued, but thanks to generous supporters we have a nice new
area for sorting rescued horses. We also got some new sand for the
round pen. After the winter rains it just had to have more sand
brought in to make working with the horses safe and comfortable for the
horses.
The staff
of NorCal Equine Rescue have been very busy as well. Claire has been out
of the office for about 2 weeks now, she is unable to return to her part
time post until after April 13th. Meanwhile the rest of us have
been overworked, but
happy that so much is getting done. We have had some great
volunteers helping us, we would like to specifically name Deb, April,
Larry, Jaime and Amber. Without a good core of volunteers NorCal
Equine Rescue would never be able to rescue and place so many wonderful
horses in need. Unfortunately until our staff gets back up to 100%
the E-news will likely end up being a bi-weekly e-news except for
special circumstances. We hope that you understand!
Tawnee
and Jason are constantly keeping their eyes open for a better facility
that can be a permanent facility closer to civilization and on a paved
road. A facility that will keep up with the growing needs.
When NorCal Equine Rescue moved to its current facility the idea of
daily visitors was a dream. Now it's a reality. A property
has become available for sale that includes a a 46 stall barn, a 100x200
indoor riding arena, and much more. We are exploring our options
for the purchase of this property. Do keep in mind that 100% of
the improvements made at our current location are portable (not counting
sand and gravel) and would be going along to any future home of NorCal
Equine Rescue. More news will be coming shortly if this appears to
be becoming a reality! Please give us some feedback, positive or
negative, about relocating! |

Current Needs |
Our auction rescue fund
this month really needs your help. Being tax season a lot of
people don't have an extra $5 or $10 to help save horses with, but if
you do, please consider donating it. We are currently at $1,538,
the goal as usual is $5000 and that leaves just $3,462 left to raise.
We know this can happen, but it will only happen with your help.

donate to the April auction rescue fund. So far this year we have
rescued 104 horses, we are excited about seeing who will be rescued
next. |

Adoptions |
|
There were 7 adoptions since our last E-news. We would like to
thank each adopter for opening their hearts and homes to rescued horses
that need a home! Perhaps you could be next? The 7 horses
that were adopted in order from left to right are: Belina, Wisp,
Big Blue, Omar, Gemini, Bailey and Nettie.

So far this year we have saved 104 equines!

Help us
save more horses from abuse, slaughter and starvation. |
