Hello
Friends of NorCal Equine Rescue!
There has been so much going on at the rescue that we have not had
the time to update everyone in the e-news list about what has been happening
here at the rescue for some time now. We hope that you have been keeping
up with our blog, but for those of you who have not, we will try to
bring you up to date.
Many of you know that we launched the first free
euthanasia clinic for
horses. Horses that would most likely end up being stuffed into an overcrowded trailer for a long hard trip, only to be
brutality killed in a slaughterhouse. Now we can provide the last gift
of kindness for those horses with no home and no hope.
All the horses that come into the euthanasia clinic are evaluated for adoption and
we are very happy to report that we have been able to find loving homes
for every horse that was adoptable! The clinics have had a lot of
attention from the media, and below are links to some of the
TV new stations that covered our euthanasia clinics.

The clinics have had a lot
attention as well from
well known horse magazines
such as: The Horse -
Equus - Practical Horseman - Equine Wellness and many more. Many
horse rescues, veterinarians, Animal Control agencies and other animal
welfare groups who are now working on starting their own
clinics for horses with no home and
no hope. We are pleased that so many
organizations are following
our lead and are stepping
forward to do what they can to keep horse off the slaughter
trucks.
The gelding
clinics are doing ok, there are
many stallions signed up for it, but the funding for it is slow.
There are too many horses and too many ungelded
stallions out there.
2009 has been a really busy year for us! Already this year
we have taken in
34 equines! With your support we can continue to
take in these poor horse with no home and no hope.

Rescue E-news & New Membership |
The last e-news
that was sent out, that was not a special edition, was
back in November. This year we want to keep you all regularly informed about
what is happening at the rescue. We have done a poll on our website on how often folks
would like the e-news to be sent out. So far Weekly is at 50%, bi-weekly
25% and monthly at 23%. We would like to know your opinion on how frequently
you would like to receive our e-news. Please vote below or

If you think that
daily should be an option, we are offering a new feature just for you.
Jason and Tawnee write the blog 6 nights a week. There is a very small
number of people who receive the blog entries right in
their e-mail every time there is a new blog entry. The people on this
special list are the Board of Directors and larger donors, but now you
can be on the
special list. All you have to do is become a NorCal Equine Rescue
Member and that will put you on the special list too. As the
Memberships grows there will be more benefits for our members.
The membership costs $50.00 a month, the money received from
membership fees will directly benefit the large number of horses we
rescue every month. Think of the membership fee as 5 bales of yummy hay
that the hungry horses can count every month, just waiting in the

started an advertising program on our website. This will be the first
time we have accepted paid advertising, up to this point all forms of
advertisement on our website has been from sponsors and other generous
