We have been notified about two
beautiful geldings in a Nevada feedlot that are waiting to go to
slaughter. There is one Paint gelding with APHA papers, age 6, the other one is
a sorrel gelding about 6-8 years old. The geldings are scheduled to be
forced into a truck bound for slaughter in Canada this Tuesday. The trip
will be long and cold, then they will be brutally killed. No horse
deserves this fate, but these are definitely too young and full of life to have
their lives end in such in terrible way.
Other horse rescues have been contacted, but each declined to intercede on
the horses behalf as they are already filled to
capacity.
There are a lot of horse that will be shipped out on Tuesday but sadly we only
have room for two, as we don't have all our pens up yet.
Unfortunately with our move to the new ranch and trying to get it
up in working order our funds are very tight. Seeing the paint gelding
standing in the picture so majestically, we decided that we would try to do
everything we could to save these beautiful horses. They have done nothing to
deserve to be slaug htered,
only served their owners faithfully and trusted them, but now their lives are
hanging in our hands.
We are sending this special edition e-news out in hopes that it
will touch your heart, that you will be able to see these horses as we see them,
and send what can to save them - Every Dollar Will Help. Just look at
them and imagine them at the slaughterhouse, listening to their friends being
killed, feeling the terror as they move down small crowded chutes, looking
over and seeing their friends hanging there bleeding to death....
You can be a part of sparing them this terrible end and giving them the
life they deserve. Please do what you feel is right.
We have the opportunity to purchase these
geldings for a total of $1,000.00. We are pleading with you to donate to
save these horses and give them a chance at life. We are stepping out in
faith that the funds will be raised. This is right on the front lines of saving
horses from certain death. With the fuel, brand inspection, vet bills,
etc. we are expecting the cost to be at least $1,500.00 for
these horses to be rescued.
