Sebastian, Noel, Manny and Angel have arrived

Sebastian is a 16.3 hand, 18 year old, Oldenburg/TB, gelding, NER # 201. He is a very sweet, beautiful boy and is very well trained in dressage.  He has a lifetime registration with the United States Dressage Federation!  Last May his owner noticed that almost every time Sebastian went into a left canter lead he would misbehave. She had the vet out and the x-rays showed a "minor reaction to the surface of the bone where the ligament attaches" to the coffin/pastern joint. The vet said that it was not ringbone and thought it would completely resolve itself.  Upon arrival at our facility we noted no lameness in stride or gait.  Due to personal health reasons Sebastians “Mommy”had to make the tough decision to donate him to a rescue to help find him a good loving home and also to help the rescue raise funds to continue to save horses in need. He trailers well, stands, is very affectionate, He has good ground manners, He would be ideal for a Dressage training facility or an advanced rider.  Sebastian is a very well cared for horse, that would do best in a stable/stall environment.

Adoption fee: $1000 - Currently Available

Noel is a 3 year old, Pinto, 1 brown eye and the other eye is 1/2 brown & 1/2 blue, 3 years old, 15.1 hand, stallion, NER # 202.
Noel is the 100th equine into our rescue! He is a very sweet, beautiful and stunning boy. Noel is very well behaved, with great ground manners and is not studdy acting.
When he was rescued his body score was 1+, now his score is 5.

Adoption Fee: $550 - Currently for adoption to an experienced horse trainer that will agree to have him gelded.  His adoption fee will rise with training and gelding.

Manny is a 7 year old, Appaloosa, 14.2+ hand, mostly white with a little frosting on his flanks, ears, chin, mane, tail, and a little color on his legs. Brown eyes, NER # 203.
Manny is a very sweet guy that just loves to be groomed and to get massages!  He loves attention and will follow you around his pen, craving more love.
When he was rescued his body score was 3, now his score is 5.
Due to bad weather we have not ridden him yet, but will soon have his riding abilities on our website.

Adoption Fee: $550 - Currently Available

Angel Wings is a Arab/QH, 14.2 hands, approx 17 years old, mare, NER # 204. Angel is a very sweet girl and loves to be played with. When she was rescued her body score was 1, now her score is 3.
Due to bad weather we have not ridden her yet, but will soon have her riding abilities on our website.
Angel may be pregnant as she has been running with Noel - NER #202.

Noel, Manny & Angel Wings

Noel, Manny & Angel Wings were seized by Lassen County Animal Control "LCAC" in November due to severe animal abuse, a felony level of not providing care. The owners were never charged, they left the County the same day the horses were seized.
The LCAC needed to find homes for them by 3/15 or they could be shipped off to a livestock auction in Nevada where horse slaughter is legal. We drove through a snow storm on Monday to bring them to our rescue before it was too late for them.  Fortunately the head of LCAC is a very caring person who transferred the horses into our care.

About the ranch that was in escrow

As many of you know, the Tazzy Animal Rescue Fund placed a 19.5 acre ranch in escrow to become our new rescue facility. We all worked very hard to raise the $25,000 needed for the down payment.
Escrow was closing in 3 days and we would move to our new rescue facility. NER Staff drove out to the ranch to give it one last look over before the end of escrow. They were greeted by "Road Closed" and "Flooding" signs. No problem, they would just drive in the back way.  Since it has rained pretty hard for a couple days they were not too concerned. The back way was flooded too, but they had to see what the ranch was like so they pressed on through deep water crossing the road. They arrived at the ranch and found 3 to 4+ feet of running water flowing over almost all 19.5 acres! They knew that they had to call the Tazzy Animal Rescue Fund and tell them not to go through with this ranch. NER Staff asked a local rancher about the flooding and he said "Every time we get a good rain that place floods!" the seller never let us know about this problem. There was no way we could have our rescue facility under water in the winter months, so we pulled out and didn't buy this ranch. All the donations for the down payment have been put into a trust fund that will only be used for the down payment on a new rescue facility. We are trusting in God that he will direct us to the perfect rescue facility, where equines will be safe at last.
We are looking for a ranch/land in California, preferably in Lassen or Plumas county. If you know of any 10+ acres for sale under $250,000 please let us know, of if you know of mostly level 10+ vacant acres for under $50,000. Thank-You!

News

We have an all new Zoro Before & After Surgery video! We would like to invite you to our website to view this video, found in the "Other" menu selection on our website.

We currently have too many equines for our current facility, and some have been placed in a boarding stable. We have
reduced the adoption fees in hopes that our equines will be in loving homes soon. Please consider opening your hearts to one of our equines that need a home so we will have the funds and room to save other equines that are in need of help!

If you're wondering from the new pictures, yes, we have new snow at our main rescue headquarters.  Fortunately the equines are staying warm and happy.

Thanks for your support and again please consider opening your home to one of our equines!
