Many New
Equines Are Available |
Katie is an 35+ year old, 16 hand, Thoroughbred / Quarter Horse, Mare,
NER # 254. Katie was donated because her owners were no longer willing to care
for her.
She is a sweet, friendly girl who needs a caring home. She is blind in her
right eye, but can still get around good.
She is supposedly trained to ride, but due to her age she shouldn't be ridden
other than perhaps letting a small child be led around once she is back up to
weight.
Katie is underweight, and with such an elderly horse, the road to recovery is
long.
Adoption Fee:
Free |
Muffin is a 17 year old, 34 inches, Miniature Horse, gelding, NER #
255.
Muffin is a cute little guy that was recently gelded. He is very sweet and
loves attention. He is one of the friendliest mini's around.
Muffin is only a touch underweight, but he should gain it back with no
problems. He is up to date on worming, vaccines, micro chipping and is ready to
find a new home.
Adoption Fee: $450.00 |
Might-Tuff-Girl "Molly"
is a 18 year old, 14.3 hand, Appaloosa, registered in the Appaloosa Horse
Club # 471851, mare, NER # 256.
Molly is an incredibly nice, gentle, "follow around the pasture yearning for
love" type of horse. She is very easy going and will make a great beginners
horse. She is one of the sweetest horses we have on the property. When she
gets her weight back she will be an awesome horse! She is up to date on worming,
vaccines, micro chipping and is ready to find a new home. Adoption Fee:
$250 |

Buck is a 22
year old, 15.2 hands, Quarter Horse, gelding, NER # 257.
Buck is underweight but is slowly gaining it back. He enjoys the
company of humans and is willing to please. He is kid safe, kid friendly, and
would make a great Christmas present for the kid in your home. He would be great for a first time beginner who wants to learn how to love
a horse.
He is up to date on worming and vaccines, and is ready to find a new home.

Concho
is a 4 yr old, 13.1 hand,
Arabian/Paint, gelding,
NER # 258.
Concho is a great, young, healthy gelding. He is green broke
to ride,
but is a little spooky when you first mount him. He is very receptive to
training, so if you know how to train and have the patience to work with him, he
will serve you well. He is a great project horse and will make a magnificent
horse with proper training and love.
Won't you consider giving Concho a home?
Adoption Fee:$650.00 |
Diamond
is a 7 yr old, 11 hand, Welsh Pony,
Mare, NER # 259.
Diamond is a very beautiful welsh mare that is built very well. She is
curious about people and is learning to lead. She was saved from a Livestock
auction. Due to severe coughing and a runny nose we took her and Onyx, her 2
month old foal, to the vet and she was diagnosed as having upper respiratory
infection and a belly full of sand.
You have to meet Diamond and Onyx to fully appreciate how pretty they both
really are. Thanks to our loving care they have made a recovery and are now
available for adoption. Adoption Fee: $800 with Onyx
Onyx
is a 2 month old, Welsh Pony,
colt, NER # 260.
Onyx is a cute little guy that enjoys long naps in the sun and running around
frisking happily. When we rescued the poor little guy, he had a terrible cough
and a runny nose. The vet diagnosed an upper respiratory infection and he was
full of parasites. With proper care, medication, and love he is doing well and
is ready for his new forever home. Onyx is much too young to be weaned, so we
are offering him with his mother.
Onyx pulled on our heart strings at the auction, and we know he will wiggle
his way into yours. Adoption Fee: Free
with Diamond's Adoption |
Rudolph
is a 4 yr old, 13.3 hand,
Paint, gelding,
NER # 261.
Rudolph, just in time for Christmas, is
the ultimate Christmas gift. With a reindeer on his side, who can resist naming
him after his motif?
Rudolph is well trained to ride, is well boned and would make a wonderful
youth or women's horse. He is extremely friendly and has a personality that
catches peoples hearts the minute they meet him. Won't you let him prance his
way into your home?
Adoption
Fee: $1000.00 |

Roshani
Naranja is a registered 25 yr
old, 14.2 hand,
Arabian Mare, NER # 262.
Roshani has seen the world! She has traveled over 1600 competition miles on 36 endurance
rides including the Tevis and the Western
States Trail Ride 100, both 100 mile rides.
Roshani, due to her age, cannot be ridden in competition but would make a
wonderful camping horse or pleasure trail riding. She is in excellent condition
and shape for her age and was not abused in any way.
Roshani is a very loving, vocal horse and expresses her love
willingly and cheerfully.

Whiley
is a 12 yr old, 16 hand, Appaloosa,
gelding, NER # 241.
Whiley is back due to his adopter trying to making some $$ selling him online.
Thanks to the fast action of NER angels, we were able to save Whiley from an
unknown fate at the hand of what seems to be a money hungry "adopter." We take our contract very
serious when it reads that you cannot sell the adopted equine within 6 months.
The adopter adopted him for $850 and tried to sell him for $1500 two months
later.
Whiley is being held for 10 days for evaluation and will then be
available once again.
Adoption
Fee: $850.00 - Available 12/06/06 |

Jessie Is
Still Waiting For A Home |
|
Jessie is our
150th equine since we started rescuing equines in 2003!

Jessie
is a 27 year old, 14.3 hand, Mustang, gelding, NER # 252.
Jessie is a very sweet old guy that has been working at a dude ranch. He was
used for beginner rides and was great at his job. He has had a hard life and we
are looking for a home he can be a baby sitter and loved on. He is healthy and
enjoying his life, but he needs to start taking it easier in his old age.
Jessie didn't have his BLM paper work when he came to us, but NER's
trainer read his brand and BLM was able to confirm the reading and is sending
us his paper work.
If you have a place in your heart for this old guy and could give him a loving
home, please do so.

Charlie
Boy is an 8 yr old, TB, gelding, NER #247. Charlie was brought to us
very emaciated with a body score of 1-. Charlie is amazing us beyond belief.
In the short time we have been blessed with his visit, he has gained over 500
lbs in less than 2 months! Visitors, after commenting on what a great looking
horse he is, are confounded when we show them his starvation pictures of
10-2-06. We are hoping that Charlie will be available for adoption in a couple
months. We would like to take this time to thank his sponsors for giving us the
funds to provide Charlie a great second chance at life. You must see
more pictures of Charlie -

in the spring of '07.
A very big thank you to his foster family for all the time and love they are
putting into his care. Status:

| We
would like to take this opportunity to remind you that NorCal Equine Rescue is a
501(c)(3) animal welfare organization, and that all donations made before
midnight, December 31st will be deductible on your income taxes come April! If
a charitable contribution is in your plans this holiday season, please remember
the many equines that we have rescued and will continue to rescue through the
coming years with your support. We are eagerly seeking $5 a month sponsors for our '07 budget,
and many people have opted to make a $60 donation this month so they can deduct
the entirety from their taxes. Please contact our fundraising coordinator for
more information. Shari - 530-354-7683
NorCal Equine Rescue is in negotiations for a
long term lease on a 10 acre ranch that would be our permanent home. We are
very excited at the prospects! The next e-news will contain the complete
details as we will know if it is a go or not. As you know, we have been renting
3 acres since August, and this has not been working out as a long term solution
since it is simply not enough land to easily bare the number of equines we
rescue. Please pray that the negotiations will be completed to the satisfaction
of all and that NorCal Equine Rescue can have a permanent forever home.
We are almost at our goal of 75
horses this year. Unfortunately, our facility is quite full. We have a lot of
equines at our ranch, and we cannot rescue any more until we adopt some out.
Just a few more, and we will have done it! We have priced our adoption fees low
in order to place them into loving homes quickly. If you are interested in a
horse, we recommend placing a $50 donation hold on them. You can do this most
easily by Paypaling the funds to
donations@savethehorse.com and then emailing
us to let us know you have done this and which equine you are interested in.
Adoptions are performed on a first come, first serve basis among approved
adopters. If you are not yet approved, the $50 donation hold will give you 5
days to complete the adoption process.
Upon the many requests of our supporters and
fans, we have decided to make Dottie a long term resident mascot. She will be
our little greeter to give people a warm welcome. We are organizing a new
outreach program, the "Krume Animal Education Program" and Dottie will be
traveling to schools to help teach kids about the responsibility that comes from
owning animals. Bring her a carrot when you come to visit our ranch. If you
would like to donate to the Krume Animal Education Program please contact
Shari. We
will only be able to visit schools as money is donated for this program as we
will not be using general rescue funds for programs other than rescuing equines. |
