We Have Moved! |
We are
pleased to announce the Grand Opening of our new winter facility. We invite you
out to meet
our staff and see the great things that are being done at Norcal
Equine Rescue. Please join us for our open house from 11-3 on Sunday
September 17, 2006. We will have equines to visit, refreshments, and
friendly staff to show you around.
We have found a beautiful equine facility in Oroville, CA that we
are now renting. As many of you know, we have been actively looking for a
permanent place to move our equines to for the last year, and thus far have been
unable to find anything that would suit our needs for a realistic price. At our
last board meeting we discussed the need to find a temporary facility for our
operation to use due to how remote we were and with severe winter conditions
coming soon. Our nights were already dropping down into the low 40's, with
much colder temperatures coming soon. Last winter NER was able to board our
horses with a couple of our board members and at Wade arena. For this winter we
decided it would be in our best interest to move to Oroville full time so that
we can rescue throughout the winter and provide the high level of care that our
horses receive in Taylorsville, CA. We have already rescued 49 equines this
year. We could not do this without you! We started diligently looking and
have found approximately 3.5 acres with a 6 stall barn, hay storage, 3 room
office, 3 bedroom house for our equine care givers, and a great pasture area
with a natural spring and a creek for the horses to romp in. The rent for our
new facility is more than our monthly budget can support, the rental price is
$1550 a month. Our on site equine care givers will be paying a generous
amount each month for the housing, and we are trusting that you will help us reach our financial goals
each month. We are all very committed to keeping our adoption prices low
and we have stepped out in faith that this is the best move for our rescue. We
are
not using the $25,000.00 down payment fund that you helped us raise to pay
the rent, that money will remain in our down payment account, but we are praying
that we will be able to get enough monthly supporters to help cover our rent
payment. If you can help please let us know - even $5.00 a month would be a
tremendous help. We moved in on August 18 and are finally getting settled. We
are now located at 137 Skyline Blvd. in Oroville, CA. There is so much work to
do getting set up, but the last trailer of tack and panels arrived last
Friday so we are well on our way to being fully up and running. In our new
office, we will have a new and used tack & gift shop for our adopters or guests
to browse, and we also have many beautiful works of art on consignment to help
raise money for our equines.
Our visiting hours are Sunday through Thursday 10 am to 3 pm,
and we are closed Friday and Saturday to give our equine and staff a chance to
relax and recuperate. We will still be available 24/7 for equine
emergencies. We are also accepting donations of tack or horse
related items to sell in our tack shop with 100% of profits going right back
into helping rescue more horses. If you can help with fundraising or know of a
business that would like to purchase advertising space, please contact Shari. If
you wish to give us a donation you can call us at 1-877-Luv-Horses and we can
accept credit cards over the phone, donations can be mailed to: NorCal Equine
Rescue - P.O. Box 6108 - Oroville, CA 95966 or use Paypal, our Paypal address is
donations@savethehorse.com Thank you for your continued
support. We absolutely could not do this without the many prayers, praises, and
donations that keep our spirits full and our horses happy. If you would like to
donate your time or hands to get ready for our open house please call Shari at
530-354-7683.

Plumas and Lassen Counties -
Thank You! |
For
the last 4 years Norcal Equine Rescue has had the pleasure of working with
several amazing individuals in Plumas and Lassen counties. We are so incredibly
grateful for the support and dedication that Dorothy from the Plumas county DA’s
office has given to our team. Dorothy has been a great source of wisdom and
passion for what we do, standing up for those with no voice. Another amazing
supporter and dedicated equine person that we have had the pleasure of working
with is Judy from Lassen County Animal Control. Lassen county is lucky indeed
to have such a charismatic person helping to solve animal issues in their area.
She works tirelessly to ensure the safety and well-being of animals in her
county and hats off to her, we know your dedication and commitment is rare
indeed. We look forward to continuing providing equine assistance in
Plumas and Lassen
counties for
emergencies or for any equine related situations. Equines can count on NER to be
ready at the call if any assistance is needed in any equine related capacity and
in any county in CA or NV.
We hope to soon have a working relationship with Butte
county and will be able to help them with any
equine emergencies, like we have already
established in Plumas and Lassen
counties. |
