Lorna Mae Safe Haven Ranch - It's In Escrow!

We Must Raise $25,000 before February 17th.
Please Contribute! |
|
Tazzy Animal Rescue Fund has placed this beautiful
19.50 acre ranch in escrow! Located in Standish
California, right
in the heart of northern California's horse
and hay country.
The property is mostly bare fully fenced with a newer mobile home 3
room - 2 bath. We would be able to choose were to place the corrals,
round pans, arenas, hay barns, mare motels, etc. and be able to build
the facilities to best suit the needs of equines. The property is in a
great location and best of all the price is right - $175.000! But we had agreed to come up with the
down payment of $25,000. That is why we are counting on you to help, we
can't do this without you! You will make the difference. We ask
that you please donate what you can, the countdown is on and the
escrow will be closing on the17th of February.
We need to
raise $25,000 before February 17th, we can only do this if you help us.
You can be a part of rescuing thousands of equines that are being
abused, neglected and slaughtered by making a donation great or small,
every dollar will help. Please don't pass this opportunity up!
Please help us - we
need you!

Why will the ranch be
called: Lorna Mae Safe Haven Ranch"?
Tazzy Fund, after
hours of research and audits of California equine rescues, selected us
to sponsor in
loving
memory of Lorna Mae.
Lorna Mae lost her fight with cancer at the age of 63. Lorna
Mae was fighting hard to beat the illness because she had bigger plans. She
wanted to introduce Tazzyfund to horse rescue. Lorna developed a love for horses
when she bonded with a horse named Apache. One of her last
requests was to not forget to save the horses. |

Jenny, Splash and Raven
Arrived At NER |
|

Sponsor Me! |
Jenny
is a 11 years old, 10 hands, white, Miniature Donkey, jenny, NER #
192. Jenny is a very sweet and lovable little donkey. She has never been abused
or neglected. Her owner was no longer able to keep her. Jenny has been very well
fed, and needs to go onto a diet program, she is overweight, and has lumps of
fat on her body. She is not foundered but there is a fear of founder if her
weight gain is not controlled. We are placing her into our rehab program during
her weight loss and exercise programs. Jenny may become a long-term resident of
NER. Her work with us would entail going to fairs, parades, schools, children's
education centers, rest homes, and more.
Jenny will need sponsors while in our rehab program. |

Splash
is a 7 years old, 14.2 hands, gray,
registered Quarter Pony,
gelding, NER # 193. He has been through so much in his short life, it is just
terrible.
No horse should have to go through what he has gone through. Splash
was taken to a dishonest horse trainer that sold him, has galloped down Highway
99 being chased by police cars until he ran into a car, has been starved to
nothing but bones, has had his back legs slashed up and were infected, has been
tied up with the ropes in a barbaric training method, and more, there's just too
much to list here,
you'll be able to find out more on our web site.
Splash will remain at our facility in rehabilitation until he is
emotionally stable and properly trained.
Splash
is in desperate need of $25 a month sponsors to help cover his feed
and care. Please consider becoming a sponsor to
help this horse have a new life. You will receive e-mail updates of his progress
and pictures, if
you sponsor him. |

Raven
is a rare jet black, 12.2 hands, 10 years old, Maltese BLM Burro, jenny, NER # 194.
She was donated to us by a NER Supporter to help us raise money for our rescue
facility. Raven has been titled and does
not require BLM paperwork, she has been in captivity for 9 years. Raven is in
great health, sweet to work with, has been trained to pack, has been used for
cart driving, however her owner said she is really to shy and unsure to be used
in a driving environment. She halters, leads (when she wants too!) and
likes to be groomed. Her coloring is very rare and unusual, she is jet black
with no markings!
Adoption Fee: $450 |

Staff Member Of
The Month |
Scott D. a 42 year old resident of Angwin,
California and a long time friend of Tawnee and
Jason
Preisner
(founders)
he was the first to joined the Board of NorCal
Equine as a lover of horses and also as a show
of support for Tawnee and Jason and their vision
of making the lives of animals they serve
better.
Scott's earliest horse experiences were with a white QH that was
blind in one eye, Scott chuckled as he said
'That horse tree'd me more than I can count" He
said that she had a pension for laying down
while saddled if he rode her anywhere near
sand. He spoke fondly of his horse and the
lessons that she taught him. Being blind in one
eye, she was probably not worth much, but to a
young man, perhaps that is what makes him
sensitive to the horses that NER serves.
Scott's favorite breed of horse is the Percheron. He enjoys riding,
but doesn't own any horses at this time. He was
recently house sitting and a horse got out of
the pasture and he said he just 'grabbed a
bridle and jumped on one of the other horses
bareback and went out and found it."
Scott, Self employed as an arborist in the Napa Valley, enjoys
extreme outdoor sports such as Swift water
kayaking, rock climbing, hiking, backpacking,
backcountry skiing, and any other
non-competitive outdoor activity. He is also
very active with his church, going on several
mission trips to Mexico and also for a month
long trip to Bolivia in the summer of 2005. He
said he would love to someday go on a mission
trip to Russia.
Scott is a valuable member of our team and we thank you Scott for
all your hard work and willingness to volunteer
your time for our efforts.

Zoro
is black, 17.2 hand, 16 year old, Friesian -Thoroughbred cross, gelding,
NER

in his right hind leg and is going in for surgery on the 20th, thanks to
Tazzy Animal Rescue Fund and his sponsors, Lisa, Sheryl, Deborah, Tiasha
& Todd, Stacy, and
June. Zoro is very underweight
and requires long rehabilitation with us. Zoro was saved from a
livestock auction, where he absolutely had the potential to be bought by
killer buyers, his future was very grim indeed because of his medical
needs.
If you would like to receive
e-mail updates on Zoro's surgery and rehabilitation you can become one
of his sponsors to for only, $25 a month!
