Auction Rescue

We have been saving horses from auctions since 2003. Since then we have seen a lot of things happen at auctions and have saved a lot of horses. We have bought a horse for $3.26, saved a 2 week old orphan foal, seen blood flowing free from injured horses, been
threaten that we would be punched in the face and knocked out for a week if we ever come back to that auction "you won’t be leaving standing up” just because of this video, click here. Shortly after that we had a protest at that auction and they denied they would have ever done that and let us come back to their auction. Yes, we have seen a lot at auctions and will see many more things in the future.
You can be a part of saving these horses at the auctions without having to see all the horror that we have seen.  We attend an auction that is less then 80 miles from our rescue each month we have funds and space available. The horses are auctioned on the second Sunday of the month. On March 9th 2007
, Thanks to Jennifer G. donating $2,000.00 for this rescue, we were able to save 12 horses from the auction! That was half of the horses that were at the auction that day.
With your help we can save more horses from the auctions and adopt them into loving homes.

Update: 11 Horses Saved!!!
There were about 90 horses at the auction this month. Our lucky 11 got to come to safety. There were killer buyers there, but since there were so many horses prices were lower this month than last month. Tawnee sat directly behind some killer buyers so she could keep an eye on their bidding habits. Watching them bid on horses, it was all Tawnee could do not to overspend her budget and buy every horse they were bidding on.

We loaded up all the horses, now they are safely back at our ranch. It was well after dark when we got home, but all the horses are settled and happy tonight. We'll begin the evaluation process tomorrow. Enjoy the pictures!

   Next Auction Rescue - 5-11-08

Last auction we saved 12 horses and did this with a $4,485 donation. We rescued a lot of wonderful horses.  Help us save more of these wonderful horses at the next auction rescue.

We don't know what horses there will be at the next auction but we do know that they need to be saved!

We are trying to raise $2,500 to save the unknown horses at the next auction.  The donators during the month will be allowed to choose the names of the horses that we rescue at the auction!

Auction Fund:

The Auction Fund is used for the buying of horses from livestock auctions, to save them before the end up at a horse trader, killer buyer, feedlot or the slaughterhouse. There are many wonderful horses that end up at auctions, only because they where in the wrong hands.
We have to bid higher then the killer buyers are willing to pay to save these horses, that is why this fund is important.
