Help a Horse in Need!

Every day we get many phone calls from desperate horse owners who for one reason or another cannot continue to care for their beloved horse friend.  Due to the sinking economy, many people are losing their homes, unable to pay their electric bills, and are facing certain financial ruin.  This leaves them with absolutely no options for continue to care for their horse.  Many horse owners are forced to place their horse for free on Craigslist, and other online marketing sites, which can then be readily scooped up by killer buyers and others who only see dollar signs when they look at a horse and only care about making a quick profit.    We can take any horse into our shelter at any time with a $150 donation.  We try to never say "No" to a horse in need, even if its owner cannot afford the $150 surrender donation.  It is not the horse's fault that its owner cannot afford the surrender donation, and we do what we can to help every horse in need that crosses our path.  Unfortunately due to the economy we do not have the financial  ability to help every horse in need that crosses our path. The daily calls of folks in desperate need are increasing and getting more desperate. We've compiled a few of the phone calls and phone messages we have received on January 24 - 26, 2008. You can also hear the desperation, the utter hopelessness of horse owners without options. We really need your help, if you can, please donate to this fundraiser to give a chance to a wonderful horse in need. The video is a slide show of some of the over 1,200 horses we have rescued, with real telephone calls and messages as the audio.      We need your help! With your donation to help horses in need, we can continue to always say "Yes" when a horse needs our help.  With your support, horses in need will not have to be turned away for a lack of funding.  Our initial goal is to help 50 horses in need, which would be $7,500.  With your help we can do this!  Please donate what you can to help horses in need.
